Each year, Advancing Science and the rest of the Science in Motion consortium lobby the state legislature to provide continued and increased funding for our program. The consortium is referred to in legislation as the Higher Education/Basic Education Science and Technology Partnership. Periodically, Advancing Science staff contacts participating teachers to request support through letters and emails sent to legislators and other potential funding sources.

 

You can support the program in several ways throughout the school year:

• Write or call your legislators to explain the impact of the AS program on your classroom and encourage them to support continued and increased funding for the program. (click here to find your legislators and their contact information*).
• Encourage your legislator to watch Advancing Science in action on You Tube. Email this link to your legislator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FImIVitpATE
• Invite your legislator, principal or superintendant to observe a van visit in action.
  
• Invite the local media to document a van visit in action.
